The Process of a Custom Jewelry Glass Art Creation

The process in which this beautiful jewelry is made can be extensive depending upon the complexity of the piece.  There is a piece for everyone, in everyone's price range.

First, the glass is cut from a sheet and layered;

2) the glass is cleaned and prepared for the kiln;

3) the glass is "cooked" in the kiln at approximately 1800 degrees, which takes approximately 6 hours;

4) then the design is sketched and layout begins;

5) once the glass is cooled, it is ground to the desired shape;

6) once the shape has been determined, the glass is polished, by hand (lots of elbow grease!);

7) then the glass is prepared, with a jewelers bit, for the construction of wire-wrapping with sterling silver wire, and finally;

8) the design is assembled into the jewelry piece from the artists' minds eye design.

This is the process "in a nutshell" -- although the process can be long and tedious (anywhere from 2 to 30 hours -- depending on the complexity of the piece),
